Celebrating 11 Years of Innovation and Creativity

Now in its eleventh consecutive year, Innovation Fest is a true experience, showcasing the creative talent from Birmingham City University. Designed to contribute to the knowledge economy, increase students’ employability by providing them with genuine portfolio material, and support the entrepreneurial talent of our students and future graduates. Students in Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment participate in exhibiting their innovative projects that match the current industry challenges with research and innovation.  The festival enables students to engage with enterprises to develop themselves as future world-changers.

Computing

Showcasing the talent and innovative ideas from Computing projects cover the following knowledge areas of Cyber-Physical Systems, Digital Media Technology, Data Analytics, and AI.

Showcasing the talent and innovative ideas from Engineering projects cover the following knowledge areas of Manufacturing, Sensor and Control, Computational Modelling, and Environment.

Innovation Expo

Innovation Expo is a collective team experience for our first-year students in computing, engineering and the built environment. Together with theory, experience and imagination our multidisciplinary approach develops and cultivates creative minds through collaborative innovative practice to construct purposeful yet viable products and solutions. Our students express talent by addressing STEAM challenges with UN Sustainable Development Goals in mind

PhD hub 3 minute Pitch

The PhD Hub – 3 Min Pitch is a contest that offers PhD students the opportunity to showcase the significance of their research. It is sponsored by the PhD Hub, an EU funded project under Erasmus+ Key Action 2 – Knowledge Alliance promoting academic and industrial collaboration within a multidisciplinary (STEAM) research framework.
