Project title: Maximizing Customer Efficiency Through the Use of Digitalization of Restaurant Processes

The aim of this project is to create an application, that is mobile optimized, which customers can use to make their orders on their own mobile device. In the application, customers can also book a table in advance to avoid waiting upon arrival. There will also be an application for the restaurant side, where they can view orders made by customers.

As the whole world is being momentarily stopped by the ongoing COVID-19 situation, modern life has to adapt to endure this pandemic. Social distancing has become a new norm and is heavily advised. However, in tight spaces such as shops and restaurants, this can be difficult. Solutions have been made in order to tackle this issue. A generic restaurant web application was built throughout this project so that smaller restaurants can implement it in their restaurants. With this, restaurants will be able to serve customers while minimising contact with customers. This report will cover all the stages taken in order to create the application.

The purpose of this project is to help promote social distancing within restaurants which already have a small area for a customer or employee to roam around while keeping distance. It will also help reduce workload and increase productivity for the employees as they can utilise the free time given to them to perform other necessary tasks. Not only does it benefit employees, but it also benefits the customers as the experience for them will be more efficient for them leading to satisfied customers.
