From 2019 to 2020, the application of the Internet of Things continues to grow. As the most representative products of the Internet of Things, smart home has attracted wide attention. According to the Global Economic Prospects report released by the World Bank in January 2021, it is predicted that the global economy will grow by 4% in 2021, and the Asia-Pacific region’s annual economic growth will reach 7.4%. As the global economy has risen, so have middle-class incomes in most countries, and so have their appreciation of the quality of life. This means that those with higher earnings more individuals have more disposable income. Our product, the intelligent carpet is completely in line with this new trend. The product is a multifunctional carpet, that can provide consumers with convenience and save time. The smart carpet measures weight and body fat, as well as, makes it easy to get up in the morning. The alarm clock plays music over a Bluetooth connection and does not shut off until the user places both feet on the carpet, thus making sure they get up.

The smart carpet can be used in a variety of ways. For example, a carpet can be the alarm clock that wakes you up every morning. The carpet can be a scale, measuring your weight each time you go up; The carpet can also be a clock, you tap on it, it will show the time.

From April to June in 2020, the second survey on Internet of Things technology was conducted by the company Hypothesis in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, and Japan. The survey results show that: The adoption of IoT continued to grow from 2019 to 2020, with the number of companies using IoT technology surging from 85 percent to 91 percent, and 83 percent of the users had at least one project in use, compared to 74 percent in 2019. The number of projects in the purchase and use phase increased exponentially from 2020, while the number of projects in the learning phase decreased significantly from last year. Among all IoT users surveyed in 2020, 29 percent of their projects were in the learning stage, compared to 33 percent in 2019. At the same time, 25% of projects in the pilot/proof-of-concept stage in 2020, a slight increase from 24% in 2019. From 2019 to 2020, the proportion of projects in the purchase stage increased by 2%, and projects in the use stage reached 25%, up from 24% in 2019. This data indicates that companies are moving from knowledge collection to implementing what they have learned. According to the research data :(1) enterprises attach more importance to the Internet of Things, and the application rate of the Internet of Things is on the rise. (2) The impact of COVID-19 is accelerating the implementation of the IoT strategy. (3) The complexity, technical issues and internal resource allocation of the Internet of Things remain the primary challenges for the application of the Internet of Things. The development of IoT products is getting more attention, and the development prospect is also a good one. A growing number of businesses are trying or have used the Internet of Things to improve efficiency, productivity, and security. In the future, more emerging technologies will become part of the Internet of Things solutions. Enterprises are integrating the Internet of Things into their long-term strategic planning and constantly using multiple resources to overcome technical problems. As a product of the Internet of Things, our multi-functional intelligent carpet can continuously develop and improve as people attach more importance to smart products.

As the publicity manager of this project, Yuluan is mainly responsible for the compilation of publicity copy and enterprise plan. They also participate in product design and discussion.

Role: Design Principal
Bio: Hui loves drawing, and she has participated multiple times in the WeChat design. In this project, Hui is mainly responsible for the product design module.

Name: Suhang Li
Role: Design Principal
Bio: Suhang thinks imagination is crucial. Whether it is in the function or the design Suhang can always come up with novel ideas. Referred to as the “little expert” Suhang engages in product appearance design.

Name: Xinyu QI
Role: Code Collector
Bio: Xinyu is good at data integration and classification. In previous projects, Xinyu was always able to find the solution. In this project, Xinyu was mainly responsible for looking for relevant technical codes, providing code support for the project manager, and assisting the project manager to complete the code compilation.

Name: Jingyi Lin
Role: Researcher
Bio: Jingyi likes to read news on the Internet and collect network information. In this project, Jingyi was mainly responsible for the market research of the early development of the product.
